Got this for my 10 year old as a simple reference to animals around the world. He spend two weeks looking uup new animals each day and called grampa to see what he knew about said animal.

my son loves this book

We got this book for my son, about two years ago, about age 10. He still uses it a lot. Thanks to this book, he is able to recognize animals on TV. The pictures are amazing. This is a great book for anyone who loves animals, not just for kids. Even kids too young to read, will love looking at the amazing photos. It is color coded making it easy to find the different types, mammals, birds, and so on. It gives a little bit of formation on each of the many different animals. Be warned it gives enough information to get curious kids started wanting more. for each animal it gives lifespan, endangered status, habitat, and size, along with some interesting info.

I recommend this book for anyone who loves animals. It won't give you a detailed look at each animal, but more of a comparison of them. It is a great starting place for more animal research. And can be enjoyed by the entire family.

This short story demonstrates the author's ability to tell a good story, and hopefully he will be encouraged to continue writing. His knowledge of the subject matter, and what the principal character must be thinking was masterful. Again, I believe this is a really good start, and hopefully the first of many (hopefully longer) stories.

There may be many layers or hierarchies of organizational objectives, such as Corporate, Branch, Department, Team, and Individual. A good management system will capture all of the organizational objectives, and all will be linked to the overall business strategy. One helpful tool for capturing organizational objectives is the Balanced Scorecard. This system
uses measures in four major categories:
1. FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE
2. CUSTOMER SATISFACTION
3. INTERNAL BUSINESS PROCESSES
4. LEARNING AND GROWTH REQUIREMENTS
The actual measures selected are highly dependent upon the type of business and should be carefully developed to ensure proper
results are obtained. The goal is to select measures that best relate to the overall company strategy. As such, each scorecard will be unique. I have used a Balanced Scorecard and highly recommend them to help organize the complex assemblage of organizational objectives into a unitary whole. This fantastic book tells you everything you need to know. Highly recommended!

"Dead Medium" revolves around seventy-five year old May Elizabeth Trump's life after death. A hermit who doesn't really want to do anything with everybody else during her lifetime, she reluctantly agrees to help Penny Saunders, a woman who dies a few days before her, to solve the debt problem that she leaves behind to her daughter Chloe. With this, May eventually gets involves with a lot of people, both dead and alive, more than she likes. She is after all a dead medium who is capable of talking to the living; her ability is rare and in great demand.

Peter John is such a wonderful author with a brilliant writing skill, which makes the narration of the book somewhat nostalgic and beautiful. May Trump is truly the center of the story and makes the reading captivating and an absolute joy. Her strong, independent quality anchors the other colorful characters: Penny and Chloe Saunders, the mother and daughter with debt problem, Barbara the so-called seer who works part-time at the supermarket, the ghost George Tailor with his Soul Stalkers' theories, and even Mr. Kibbles, the ghost cat. The story itself is marvelous as well as humorous and gives remarkable insight into how the dead deals with the living world and it discusses the mystery of the other side. The ending takes a surprising turn but it ties up everything together nicely in the end. An enjoyable read and I can't wait for the author's next brilliant work.

About the Author
Peter John was born in Bromley Kent, England in 1973. He gained an interest in creative writing at the age of 14 and was published during the 1990's in several poetry anthologies. Happily Married to Jo since 1996 and currently living in Sidcup Kent, not so far from the tree.

Magical, well written Ghost Story

This is so totally not my normal type of story that I would read. Even with that being said, I don't think I could have given less then a five just based on pure beauty. The story as a whole was almost generous in how it offered up the storytelling. Peter has a brilliant voice as and author and he brought each character to life from the moment they stepped onto the page. They each had definite and unique personalities.

I am a totally fan of any really great ghost story. Ghost Whisperer was one of my favorite shows and I happen to be watching it again. This story is sort of like Ghost Whisperer in reverse. A single ghost, May, can talk to the living and translate ghost to the living.

It is such a great story! Engaging and almost like magic, I even cried at the end. I have to say that if you are a fan of ghosts and paranormal this is the story for you. I will give a warning that this is written in UK English. Having a british husband that writes in this style I LOVED it. I wanted to hug the book when I read the language that this was brought to life in.

Once again, I highly recommend this for light reading to break up your usual genre!

original ghost story

This well written story about a recently deceased woman who discovers she can communicate with the living, unlike her new ghost friends, is very original and imaginative; like no other ghost story I have read before! It was really fun to read. I did not want to put the book down and liked the unexpected ending. Hightly recommended!

I don't usually read books about mediums, but this one was very well done in my opinion. Author Peter John did a great job tying all the elements together. His characterization was particularly strong, and I found the book very hard to put down once I started reading. It's a great gift for someone who is looking for a new type of paranormal adventure!

Well, it was okay. I mean, I know it's F. Scott Fitzgerald, but it did not float my boat the way I expected it to, and certainly not as much as The Great Gatsby. The man sure can write, and it's always a treat to read something as literate, but in the long run, the story was really about nothing at all. Overall it was a mundane journey of a young man through his adolescence, teens, and college years, as he meandered around stewing in his own confusion and the kind of introspection that only a college student can muster up. I felt compelled to finish it, just in case something actually happened, and several times I felt that something was JUST ABOUT to happen... but alas, the Happening just fizzled out, leaving poor Amory more depressed, less confident, and ultimately less interesting altogether. The digression into a playwright's narrative partway through the book was also a little disconcerting, and I don't think it added anything to the story's value. Sorry, F. Scott. Sorry, English Lit professors everywhere.

F. Scott Fitzgerald's anthem to the Lost Generation, "This Side of Paradise" gave me insight into the effect of war on a generation. The description of the carefree, pampered years of a boy reared in the world of private schools and elite universities showed us an inward looking generation indoctrinated in the beliefs of their parents. The crucible of World War I refined the generation into one that developed their own wisdom and generational spokesmen. I saw many parallels Fitzgerald's generation and today's post 9/11 youngsters.

Didn't weather well for me

Loved it in my youth. Did not hold up on rereading. Must give note that Fitzgerald was only, what, 22 years old. Later works showed up better. 'Gatsby' and some of his long 'short' stories ('Winter Dreams', 'Diamond as Big as the Ritz', etc.) are classics. He's a great, great writer but 'Paradise' is more of a showcase for his erudition than an actual, satisfying novel.
