We all go to heaven, to a loving and joyful non-physical realm, when we die. According to Hall, relationships with our loved ones are eternal: they do not end simply because someone dies.
The book includes personal stories of how Hall coped with her husband's death and her mother’s dementia. She writes about the importance of choosing one's thoughts and learning to appreciate the experiences our loved ones in heaven are having. Learning to make peace with death by thinking differently about it!

Death is the event about which the majority of human beings refuse to think at all until faced with the imminent and personal issue. People face death in many different ways; some bring to the adventure a feeling of self-pity, and are so occupied with what they have to leave behind.
I'm no different from them. I had so many questions on my mind like, What is death? How do we experience death? Does it hurt? How quickly does it happen? What about life after death; do we survive? If so, in what capacity? Do we meet loved ones who passed before, or do we lose all sense of personal identity and recognition? What is the after-life like?
I feel glad for having read this book. I found answers to several questions I had on my mind. It is filled with knowledge and spirituality. The writing style is so brilliant and easy to understand. The spiritual perspective on dementia was amazingly written. I finally realized that death is not an end!! Understood that Death is a return to Love...

Thought provoking and insightful

I loved this book mainly for its ability to make me look at death in an entirely different light. I've never been particularly afraid of death, but I've also never spent a lot of time thinking about it. It is an incredibly thought provoking piece that is also beautifully written, making it that much more enjoyable to read. I didn't necessarily finish it feeling like I'd completely resolved any issues I've had or that it answered all my questions, but I don't think that was its intention. To me, the book was simply a way to get you thinking about death in a totally different light, and that it would help you begin a journey to finding answers. This is part of what I loved, because it never tried to force any beliefs or make you resolve an issue in a short amount of time. I felt it did a wonderful job making me think more about life and death, and I would highly recommend it to anyone struggling with death or who is looking for some answers.

Excellent

I thoroughly enjoyed "Odysseys of Love" and found it to not only be very well-written, but it also challenged a few of my prior beliefs and conceptions related to the topic of death (and, of course, what may come after) so overall I found the read to ultimately be very insightful and even enlightening in a sense. I can’t say that I agree with all of it, and I suppose that’s to be expected, but I still found the majority of the content to be written in a very thought-provoking manner and I respect the author for being able to express her thoughts with a solid foundation of logic and a clear sense of perspective.
“Odysseys of Love” is one of the few reads I have come across recently that I’m sure I will be thinking about long after finishing the book. I highly recommend it and I hope to see more in the future by author Graehme Hall.
