Loved this book...A must read :)

I really truly loved this book. It has a little bit of everything. You have a beautiful romance between Cole and Blake. You have beautiful friendships between Blake, Cole, Aubry, Becky and Greg. You can literally feel their love for each other flow off the Kindle and it really is wonderful. Lastly you have a mystery/suspense that even has me wondering "WTF is going on here?!? Seriously?" and I very rarely say that. I am pretty good at figuring out story lines and where they are going but this one even has me stumped. Only other person to do that to me was CJ Roberts...lol...she caused me a need some therapy after reading her books...haha.
There are only two words that I can think of the describe Blake and Cole's love....beautiful and genuine. Their love is believable. Blake is broken but strong. She is never whinny or annoying but vulnerable where she needs to be. Cole is strong and very sexy but I think what makes him the sexiest is that he so comfortable in showing his emotions to Blake. He never leaves her guessing about how he feels but it doesn't come across as weak or sappy (good job author :). His relationship with Aubry is just heartwarming....I love it. I hope my kids have a relationship like that.
I don't want to give too much away about the mystery/suspense part of the book because it really is something you need to read to really enjoy and appreciate. I will say its subtle but very important part of the book. The author did really amazing job weaving the love story and the mystery together without it getting muddled or confusing. There is a cliffhanger so I am telling you now to prepare yourself. I have some theories on what may have happened to all of them but really I cannot even begin to figure out where Claire Conteras is going to take this. The summer cannot come fast enough for me and I HATE the summer :)
The book was beautifully written. The characters are all have some type of depth and you can connect to their relationships with each other. I am so excited for book 2 :) (this has to be one of my longest reviews....shows how much I enjoyed it)

The Autumn Review for There Is No Light In Darkness

The one thing that I love about blog tours is that I've been introduced to so many great books and authors that I may have passed on or just not have seen. This was one of those books for me. I'm not sure I would have picked it up, to be honest with you. BUT, my pal Taryn asked me to sign on for the tour, so I took a chance. I'm glad I did. Not only could I NOT put this book down, but now I'm dying for the next book!
Blake Brennan. My heart ached for her from the beginning of this story. She witnessed her parents murder as a young child, was taken by the murderers to go live with a stranger, suffered more loss, and still has no idea why her parents were killed. The one good thing that came out of this mess was that she made a family with Aubry and Cole. These two boys were living in another home that Blake moved to as a teen. She developed a close friendship with both boys, but she fell in love with Cole. These two had instant chemistry from the day they met. I don't want to say much about their relationship because it's a huge part of the story, but I'll tell you that I loved it and I adore Cole.
Cole has his own mystery to uncover. He was left at the home, that Blake moved to, as a child. Cole doesn't remember his past, since he was so young, but he was left with a substantial amount of money and some land. Yet, he can't find any answers. Now that Cole and Blake are adults, they take a chance at having a real relationship AND they both want to find the answers to their past. The best part about them as a couple for me was that they are solid. They are truly in love and I really felt like they were meant to be together.
So because this has a suspense element to the story and it's a series, the ending left me clutching my tummy. We do find some answers throughout the story, but we still don't know WHY! While some of my theories were correct, I'm still left guessing. I wonder if my big theory will be correct. Hmm...
Overall, I was impressed with this debut novel. I enjoy reading some suspense, especially if it has a strong romance as well. This one not only gave me the steam, but a really great story as well. Definitely worth checking out!
*Side note: When I lived in Chicago, our favorite pizza was Lou Malnati's. Lou's was mentioned in the book. I got all excited.*

Love this book!!

I decided to buy this book based on most of the reviews and the price of .99. I'm so glad that I did. I laughed, cried and fell in love while reading this book. The relationships between all the characters are beautiful. I loved everything about this story. As soon as I finished reading it, I immediately bought the second installment. I would definitely recommend this series.
